When I bought this foundation, I originally sought out to buy the Bourgois Healthy Mix SERUM foundation. That’s the one that’s famous for being good on dry skin. However, after two months of waiting for this delivery and getting a refund presuming it was lost in the mail, yesterday a small, unassuming package arrived with this foundation in it. This is not the foundation I ordered, but hey, it’s free at this point. I figured I might as well wear it and see what happens.
Here are some swatches and some first impressions:
Shade: No. 52 Vanille.
I wear about an NC20 in MAC. Other good shade matches for me are NARS sheer glow in Deauville, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in 4, and Loreal True Match Lumi in W1-2.
I love the packaging. It has a thick, glass bottle and a nice smooth pump. I found that one pump was enough coverage for my whole face.
It smells fruity which is quite unique for foundation and I really enjoy it! It makes it feel extra fresh on the skin.
This foundation feels thick and silky to the touch, probably from the silicone ingredients. It feels like a high end foundation. The texture reminds me a lot of my NARS sheer glow in the thickness and silkiness.
For application, I used one pump and dotted it on my cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. I blended out with a beauty blender. This foundation blends very easily and does not dry too quickly so you have some time to work with it.
I would say that the coverage of this foundation is medium, leaning towards full coverage. In my swatch above, you can see how much it covered the freckle on my arm. The finish looks very natural in my opinion and is a satin to demi matte finish on my dry skin, which I don’t have a problem with. It did not cling to any dry patches or accentuate any texture on my skin. It did sink into my pores a tiny bit.
This foundation (mostly) lasted through a workday. I forgot setting spray this morning – I was in a rush. It would have held up even better with the setting spray. At the end of the day it still did not accentuate any dry patches and only caked up minimally around my nostrils, which happens with almost all of my foundations after wearing them for several hours.
Overall, I am SUPER impressed with this foundation! It is very high quality for the price. I recommend trying this out for dry-normal skin. I can’t really comment on oily skin.
