Allison is the newest shade in Anastasia’s liquid lipstick line. This shade is marketed as a “pinky brown” and the formula is marketed as “intensely pigmented, long wearing, matte, lasts for hours.” I found all of these claims to be true! Here are the details of my review:
Shade & Swatches:
On my skin, this shade is a lot darker than what I’ve seen on Instagram. A lot of people use bright ring lights that wash everything out, and I’ve seen this shade look more like a mid tone or nude pink. When I saw it in store, I was shocked at how brown it looked. Here is a lip swatch on me. I have about NC20 skin:
The flash photo shows Allison similar to how I’ve seen it online. Despite the depth of the shade, it is pretty muted so it’s very easy to wear. I think this shade would be a gorgeous nude on darker skin tones.
This formula is in between a super moussey texture and a very liquid texture. It is opaque in one swipe, and you get a little bit of play time with it before it dries to even out the lines. I recommend using a lip liner to help get even lines – but I recommend this with any dark liquid lipstick. It doesn’t sink into lip lines at all.
This formula does become VERY dry so I recommend wearing a lip primer underneath. This formula is very long lasting and resistant to food and drinks. I wore this yesterday from about 1 PM to 10 PM and had some Mac & cheese, beer, water, and chips (I am just the pinnacle of health, I know.) I am very happy with how long it lasts but I do wish it was less drying.
I’m really happy with the color and formula of this liquid lipstick. I don’t know if I will buy any more because it is so drying but I’m really happy with the color and I think it’s pretty unique.
That’s all! Have you tried Anastasias liquid lipsticks? What did you think?
